“The Redeemer Shall Come to Zion”

Isaiah 59:20–21

20 And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the Lord.
21 As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the Lord; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the Lord, from henceforth and for ever.

Elder Bruce R. McConkie wrote:

“What is there of greater concern to the Lord than to gather His people so they can be saved? For what purpose did He create the earth, man, and all things, except to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of His spirit children?

“‘The Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the Lord. As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the Lord; my spirit that is upon thee [upon gathered Israel], and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the Lord, from henceforth and for ever’ (Isaiah 59:20–21). There is an eternal decree, issued in heaven above by the Lord Himself. It is that in the day of gathering, when for the last time He assembles the outcasts of Israel, He will never again forsake them. They and their seed forever shall remain steadfast to the truth. The gospel will never be given to another people, nor the kingdom placed in other hands. The Lord’s work will roll forward until the conversion of the world is completed.”
