“Draw Near unto Me and I Will Draw Near unto You”

Doctrine and Covenants 88:63

63 Draw near unto me and I will draw near unto you; seek me diligently and ye shall find me; ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

President Harold B. Lee said:

“It isn’t the Lord that withholds Himself from us; it’s we who withhold ourselves from Him. . . . Ask the Father in [the] name [of Christ], and if it is expedient, then He will give it to you if you have asked in faith and drawn near to Him. . . . Now, that’s the way to pray. You have to draw close to Him. He isn’t an absentee God. He isn’t an absentee Lord. He’s close to us if we will only draw close to Him.”
