The Holy Ghost Is the Lord’s Minister
1 Corinthians 14:32–33
32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.
33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
Elder Bruce R. McConkie wrote:
“[The Holy Ghost] is the Lord’s minister who gives revelation, sanctifies souls, dispenses spiritual gifts, and leads men to all truth. . . . [N]one of the blessings of the Spirit are sent forth in a haphazard manner. The Lord’s house is a house of order. ‘The spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets,’ as Paul expresses it, ‘for God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints’ (1 Corinthians 14:32–33). Accordingly, the Lord gives His Spirit to the leaders of His Church so that they may direct that holy organization in harmony with His mind and will.”
